A Retro Gaming Cabinet Revamp
Overview:
The D-Cade is a personal project that involved refurbishing an old custom-made game cabinet originally built for a Sega Dreamcast. Over a decade later, the cabinet was broken and unused, so I decided to bring it back to life using a Raspberry Pi and RetroPie gaming app. The goal was to modernize the cabinet and create a functional retro gaming system. Through custom modifications and creative problem-solving, I transformed the cabinet into the "D-Cade" - a unique and personalized gaming experience that became a hit at social gatherings in my college house, aptly named the D-House, home to my a cappella group, the Dischords. This portfolio piece showcases my skills in A/V management, Raspberry Pi use, 3D printing, and customization, and reflects my passion for fast-paced personal and innovative projects. Currently, the D-Cade can be found in the waiting room of a popular doctor's office in South Lyon, Michigan.
